I'm so happy to have found your blog! Were you aware that there is an old now unmaintained trail to the right at the Jakes Creek/Miry Ridge/Panther Creek junction? It goes to Blanket Mountain, the site of an old fire tower and cabin. It's really neat and if my memory serves me correctly, it's about a half mile.
