birthday present :-)

what do you get for a hiker who has most of the gear he needs?  just ask my wife - she found the perfect birthday present.

I got five of the coupons pictured below for my birthday today.  now all I need is some free time and I'll be off to the mountains!

    I'm a new reader having found your blog while doing a search for "Old Sugarlands Trail." I've ended up reading the whole thing and enjoyed every minute of it. I love reader others accounts of trails I've done myself! I hope your silence since Dec. 26 is just from lack of hiking and doesn't indicate you've stopped posting. I'm looking forward to following along as you work towards your goal. I never "officially" set the goal to hike all the trails, but after a while, it gets in your blood, doesn't it??

    hey Sharon - thanks for stopping by! unfortunately I just haven't had a chance to get out lately, thus the lack of posts... I had a couple of trips I wanted to take in January, but when the snow closed the roads in the Smokies I had to bail. hopefully I'll get back out there soon!
